NISARGAH’s Insights into Organic Farming and Fertilizers
The world started realizing that the only way to avoid hurting the ecosystem is to return to traditional sustainable farming methods. As a result, “organic farming,” a method founded on the wide philosophy of ” live and let live,” has gained more recognition.
One of the challenges in promoting organic agriculture is the unavailability of quality organic fertilizers to enhance soil fertility and thereby improve crop productivity. Whilst soil fertility can also be improved by several other cultural practices including designing farms systematically, there are no easier options than using organic fertilizers. The sustained use of chemical fertilizers has polluted the soil, and the farm produces and hence the Government is promoting usage of organic fertilizers. Variants of organic fertilizers consist of organic compounds which help in increasing soil fertility and production efficiency without harming the crop or soil health. Organic fertilizers are the ones sourced from organic materials such as plants, mineral, or animal sources.
